Canadian Nightcrawlers are the #1 Live Bait for a reason. These worms average 3 1/2 – 6″ in length and are the diameter of a pencil. They are used to catch every species of fish from Walleye, Bass and Catfish to Saltwater. Nightcrawlers can also be broken into parts for smaller pan fish. Canadian Nightcrawlers are a cold weather worm and do require refrigeration.
Spikes are the #1 Selling Ice Fishing Bait. They are larvae of the common blowfly. They are great for pan fishing and trout. Maggots are a creamy white with a soft pliable body.
Wax worms are the larval stage of the the Greater Wax Moth (Galleria Mellonella). They are an excellent bait for pan, ice and trout fisherman. They last one to two weeks at room temperature, but they can be kept cool at 60 degrees, where they become dormant and will last up to 8 weeks. They are ideally kept in a wine cooler, butter tray in the refrigerator, or in a cellar.
Red Giant Mealworms are an excellent bait for pan fishing and trout. Their hard exoskelton keeps them on the hook. They average 1 1/2 – 2″ in length. Red Giant Mealworms are shipped in cloth bag during summer months and in cups with wheat bran in winter months. Wheat bran which they use as their bedding. They will last for 1-2 months if refrigerated.
